Target Reached for Centre

€250,000 raised for the MS Care Centre. Well done!

Multiple Sclerosis Ireland is delighted to announce that the target of €250,000 was reached for our Friends of the MS Care Centre Appeal. We wish to thank all our supporters, volunteers and friends who gave so generously to support Irelands only respite and therapy centre for people with MS. In addition to all the money raised many individuals and companies volunteered their time and talents too. Thank you so very much!

What you have achieved:

• Emergency lighting installed to improve safety

• Installed a sluice room to better dispose of waste

• Re-landscaped the garden for better and safer walks for residents

• New equipment for bedrooms

• Renovated windows to improve insulation

• Made safe a large sky light on a protected part of the building

The money you have helped raise has meant that we could continue to run the centre day by day, providing 24 hour nursing care, physiotherapy sessions, nutritional food, social activities and our neurological assessment programme.

Image removed.Patricia Killen from Kildare has been coming to the MS Care Centre for a number of years. She loves the variety of activities and excellent care.

“The carers are excellent. They know so much and look after me so well. Every single day you have something new to wake up to. The MS Care Centre is my little island of good things”.

The MS Care Centre is Irelands only respite centre for people with MS. The centre gives people with MS the opportunity to avail of top class services, meet others with MS and adjust to the changes MS brings to their life. The centre also gives family carers a break from caring, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is cared for and content..

On behalf of the people who use the centre and their families, thank you for your generosity and support

Be A Lifelong Friend

With the centre in tip-top shape our focus turns to the on-going work of caring and supporting residents. State cuts and drops in fundraising mean it’s harder and harder to keep the doors of the centre open. Please continue to be a friend of the MS Care Centre.
