2016 Annual Galtee Walk

The Annual Galtee Walk was held on Sunday, 19th June. Now in its 35th year and despite the inclement weather it was heartwarming to see such a large turn out, showing their support and walking the Galtees to raise funds for the local Fermoy Branch.

Unfortunately, the fog was as persistent as the rain was relentless and for safety reasons people were advised to do only part of the walk. Despite all this, spirits remained high with Volunteers and walkers alike and everyone enjoyed the event with some already discussing next year's walk!

A big THANK YOU to...

Everyone who helped out on the day,  to Centra of Fermoy for once again sponsoring refreshments, to all of you that made cakes and sandwiches enabling the hardworking ladies committee provide sustenance to the wet and weary Walkers, to the Red Cross (Fermoy/Conna Branch) who are such integral part of the walk every year, to Tom Cunningham for permitting us to use his field once again as a carpark!, to all those Brave Souls that left their warm dry homes to walk up the Galtees in support of people with MS, to you the Public for showing your support by donating money, to our CEO of MS Ireland Ava Battles for braving the elements and showing her support by walking with us on the day and last but not least to the many wonderful Volunteers who gave so willingly of their time to play their part in organising, stewarding and catering for the event. It could not or would not happen without your commitment and dedication year on year. Check out latest updates and photos over on Facebook

See you all next year on the mountain!
