National AGM and Meeting Day

MS Ireland welcomed new award winners, board members and volunteers from across the country to its AGM and National Meeting Day

MS Ireland’s AGM and National Meeting Day was held in the Hilton Hotel, Dublin on Saturday 29th of September. The day aimed to conduct some of the official business of the Society and to give volunteers some opportunities to address some of the challenges they face. The day also celebrated the spirit of MS Ireland as three new members were awarded our national awards.

Highlights of the day:

Educational sessions
Volunteering and fundraising were the focus on the day. Volunteering Ireland led a session on various aspects of volunteering including why people volunteer, what people expect from volunteers and how people become involved in volunteering. The Irish Charities Tax Reform held a session about the new codes of fundraising practice and what obligations we have under them. MS Ireland also made a presentation about community fundraising and what it is.

All presentations have been sent to our voluntary Branches but are also available by contacting Denise Carey on (01) 678 1600 / denisec@ms-society.ie
