Charlotte and Dip-A-Day Challenge

My name is Charlotte and I am taking on the Dip-a-Day challenge for MS Ireland this September.

Dip A Day Challenge - Charlotte

1. Why you decided to do the challenge and why you choose MS Ireland

I am taking on this challenge and fundraising for MS Ireland as I was diagnosed with Multiple  Sclerosis in May of this year. To be honest I didn't know much about MS before being diagnosed, but through learning about the disease I can see how crucial the supports and services are that MS Ireland provides to people living with MS here in Ireland.

I wanted to have a bit of craic with my friends completing the challenge, increase awareness and contribute to the great work the society does by pitching in and raising much-needed funds. In my case, sea swimming is really good to help manage the symptoms of my MS, so it's a win-win.

2. What is the Dip a Day in September and how you plan do it.

The Dip-a-Day challenge asks fundraisers to get into the water every day in September for a dip or swim - 30 days, 30 dips, 30 opportunities for my friends and I to brave the cold Atlantic. I'm going to complete it in my home county, Kerry, and my friends and I are planning on being extra ambitious by conquering as many different swim spots as we can for the month. We might as well tackle the challenge head on and go all out!

I'm already blown away by the support I've received since starting this fundraiser a couple of weeks ago, and have already tripled my fundraising target! I would encourage anyone wanting to get involved or start their own fundraiser - it will have such a positive impact on the MS community in Ireland.
